Rebecca Ann Chew (Smit) (1971)

Sad news fellow classmates:  Kurt Veggeberg passed away from pancreatic cancer on November 2, 2016.  Kurt was a good friend, fellow band fairy and Austinite, although I hadn't seen him in a few years and didn't even know he was ill.  There will be a service in Austin on November 12, 2016 at 11:00 am.  The information is below:

Damon Suzanne Osborn (Schleuse) (1971)

One of my favorite people from Westchester.  He kept me laughing in English and Band and all throughout high school.  So smart and so fun!  

Bill Marshall (1971)

Damon, I completely agree.  Kurt & I lived in the same neighborhood and went to Middle School and High School together.  Sharp, witty, immensely intelligent.  Lost track over the years but connected briefly at the 45th.  Too, too early, what a loss.

Linda Franz (Vaughn) (1971)

Kurt taught me how to drive a stick-shift in the parking lot of Tully in his dad's MG. Back in the day of reading hard books (a few years ago), i would reserve alot of books at the Austin library down the road and many times there would be a hold for VEGGEBERG next to VAUGHN -- figured there couldn't be too many of those around. We reconnected at the 40th reunion and turns out he lived about 1/2 mile from me in Austin. Nice guy always with a smile on his face!

Richard Louis Hagemann (1971)

Kurt was at Vanderbilt my freshmen year and it was great to  have a Westchester buddy to commiserate with. We commuted to Houston for winter break, including a 2-3 day unscheduled stop in Memphis due to car troubles. Smart as can be and with a quirky sense of humour, I have fond memories of our time together. We reconnected at the 40th and I recall fondly that conversation. Sad to hear of his passing.
