Alford Russell Fenton, Jr.

December 18, 1959 - June 24, 2013

Alford Russell "Rusty" Fenton Jr., of Dallas, TX, age 53, died June 24, 2013. After a three year battle with kidney cancer, the Lord brought him home.

Rusty was devoted to his family, and is survived by his wife Denise and his four daughters Kara, Katie, Emma Grace, and Ellie Rose.

Born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, he grew up in Houston, TX, attended Texas A&M, and was a proud Aggie who never forgot to say, "Howdy." Rusty's passion was food and helping others. He co-founded Uncle Julio's in 1986 and enjoyed a long, influential career in the restaurant industry. He was able to combine his love for food and family when Rusty Taco opened in 2010; he never missed the chance to visit with friends and customers. Rusty was infamous for his sense of humor and wit. He taught his daughters, "It doesn't matter if it's funny, as long as it's quick."

Rusty was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Church and shared a strong fellowship with his men's Bible Study. His faith inspired many and he will be greatly missed.

Rusty is preceded in death by his mother Lucile Fenton.

He is also survived by his grandmother, Irene Fenton, father Al Fenton and wife Karen, brother Joe Fenton, his wife Erin and their children, sister Michelle Long, her husband Merlin and their children, along with numerous extended family.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Thursday, June 27th, at 10 am at St. Michael and All Angel's Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas Ave. Dallas, TX 75225.
