Obituary of Michael Ross Adams

Michael Ross Adams passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 16, 2021 at the age of 56. Michael was born April 28,1965 to Donna Dudley Adams and Robert Glenn Adams in Houston, Texas.

Michael graduated from Westchester High school Class of 1983 and then attended The University of Texas, graduating in 1987 with a degree in Economics. During that time, Michael was a lifetime brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon, class of 1983, where he began many of his long-standing friendships. After graduating from The University of Texas, Michael returned from Austin to Houston and began his professional career in banking with First Interstate Bank in 1988, then leaving in 1992 to pursue other endeavors at Southwest Bank of Texas, now known as Amegy Bank. Michael eventually transitioned into the Senior Commercial Lending Manager position. Later, during his career in 2013, he began a new opportunity with Frost Bank as Market President. Michael enjoyed twenty-five plus years of banking experience with expertise in customer and prospect development as a trusted advisor, solidifying relationships and rapport.

Michael was a devoted family man who always gave to family and others before himself. Married to the love of his life, Shelley Buchanan Adams, for 28 years, they together enjoyed raising their two children, Michael “Ross” Adams, Jr. and Victoria Frances Adams both whom he adored and treasured every single day. He spent many hours coaching and mentoring both his children through Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association, specifically Ross’s baseball advancement with such joy and Victoria in her soccer experience. Both Ross and Victoria were his utmost pride and joy. For Michael, everything happily and genuinely centered around the strength and bond of his family.

Michael was known for his immense love of sports. He and Shelley spent countless weekends traveling to watch the Longhorns play football, enjoying the camaraderie of the game and true friendships. As well, time was spent entertaining friends and family by grilling fajitas at their home. Michael and his family travelled around the world: spending time in Guatemala, Aruba, Canada and throughout the United States. Michael shared a particularly strong relationship with his mother, Donna, who was always a strong supporter/advocate for her son.

Michael is survived by his wife: Shelley, son: Michael “Ross”, daughter: Victoria Frances, mother: Donna Dudley Cain, sister: Cherie Adams Viator and her husband: Michael Viator, of Houston, Texas; niece: Kendall Michele Viator of Dallas, Texas; nephew: Collin Glenn Viator, of Los Angeles, California; stepmother: Gaylene Adams Miller of Montgomery, Texas; sister-in-law: Ellen Buchanan de Campollo and husband: Ricardo Campollo of Guatemala, along with nephews and niece; aunts and uncles: Peggy and Larry Schulte of Plum, Texas; Marie and David Dudley of Pasadena, Texas; Gerald Adams of Huntsville, Texas; Marsha and Bob Brunson of Conroe, Texas and many beloved cousins.

Michael is preceded in death by his father: Robert Glenn Adams of Willis, Texas; grandparents: John and Hilda Dudley of Point Blank, Texas; Morine and Carl Hudson of Conroe, Texas.

Our dedicated caregivers: Gladys Euceda, Crystal Cray, Favourlyn Amah, Esther Aerola, Funmilayo Olatunji, Lyvonne Broussard, Charmonique Hoodye, Candice White, and Sandra Celedon.
