For classmates who may not be connected with Mike Leggett on FB, tragic news shared on his page of the sudden loss last night of his younger brother, Richard (Class of 1985)  Richard passed away from complications to blood clots. I will update WHS '77 home page if the family decides to postpone Mike's memorial service scheduled for Saturday. I sent an email last night to classmates via the website - hoping that you received. Meantime, please pray for Mike & Richard's mother, Maurine Leggett, in the loss of her sons and for the entire Leggett family. My heart grieves for them, as I know yours does.

Message on Mike's FB posted below: Prayers for peace for my family. Richard, my second cousin, was taken off life support and passed immediately. My great aunt Maurine has now lost both of her sons within 2 weeks of each other. Gail Leggett Brown Sandra Leggett Munselle and I will be traveling to Michael Leggett s funeral Saturday. No mother should have to bury a child much less both of them within a week of each other.

Richard Reel Leggett passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2015. He born in Houston August 7, 1967 to  Robert L. and Maurine Youree Leggett.

Richard graduated from Westchester High School in 1985 and then, graduated from Southwest University in 1990.

He was a Sr. Production Accountant for “W&T Offshore” and will be missed by all who knew him, especially co-workers, softball buddies, and golfing friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, “Bob” Leggett and brother, Michael.

He is survived by: his loving Mother, Maurine; Nieces, Emily and Annie Rose Leggett; and Nephew, Ryan Leggett.

Miss and love you so much, Rich.

Memorial service to be held at 1:00pm on July 18, 2015 at Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Lane, Houston, Texas 77024.
