From Carolyn's daughter, Melissa:

"She unfortunately passed away on October 16, 2016. She had stage 4 lung cancer and although she was receiving chemo, she passed very shortly after her diagnosis (only a few months) as it had already spread almost everywhere. She was a tough lady as this wasn’t her first time having cancer. She had stage 4 breast cancer at 37 and survived (she had less than a 20% chance to survive and she won!) She then had endometrial cancer at 49 and survived. She was truly a strong woman. I can say that when she did pass, she was surrounded by her children and I think that’s what she would have wanted."
