Allan Schooley, age 44, died Wednesday, Sept. 2,1998. He was born in Houston on May 12,1954. He was a 1980 graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio with a bachelor of science degree. He did graduate work in business at the University of Tulsa, in Tulsa, Okla.

Upon graduation, he began employment with Royal Viking Cruise Lines in California as district sales manager and as a sales representative aboard ship, taking him on many around-the-world cruises. Later he was employed by United Airlines as account manager, continuing his employment in the travel field. At the time of his death, he was employed by Edify Corporation in Santa Clara, Calif., as business development representative.

Allan is survived by his parents, Leroy and Teta Schooley of New Braunfels; brother, Graham Schooley, Sr., and wife Carolyn; sister, Janet Walker and husband Tom; nieces, Kelly and Lesley Walker; nephews, Graham Schooley, Jr., and wife Amanda and Mark Schooley and wife Stephanie; great-nephews, Graham Schooley III, Avery Schooley; and great-niece, Alexandra Schooley, all of Houston.

Friends can call Geo. H. Lewis and Sons funeral home between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, where the family will be present for visitation. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, in the chapel of Geo. H. Lewis and Sons, with the Rev. Wick Stuckey of Chapelwood United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Walker, Graham Schooley, Jr., Mark Schooley, Frank Burns, Guy Leflar and Gene Moore. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at M.D. Anderson Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice at The Texas Medical Center, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030. Geo. H. Lewis and Sons/ Houston

Nancy Stark (Stevenson) (1972)

I had no idea Alan had passed away...I was just thinking of him.  We were in a youth group together at Pines Presbyterian.  I recently contacted Tim Sunday, our pastor's son, to let him know I still remembered his dad's sermon for our graduation. Alan was always happy, always smiling....you are missed.
