After graduating from OSU and being commissioned, I spent 22 years flying carrier-based jets with the Navy. Included in my Navy experiences were Vietnam combat tours, a tour flying with the Royal Navy and two years working with the Turkish Navy. After retiring from the USN, I spent the next 11 years working with the Royal Australian Air Force as an F/A-18 liaison officer. In 2000-2001 Barbara and I toured the US and experienced full-time RVing. Fall 2001 brought us to Tacoma where Barbara's mother was living. Barb is currently with Pierce Transit, the local transit agency. She intends to retire in September 2015. I am actively retired, but enjoy working part-time with medical students at the University of Washington. We enjoy traveling, reading, and motorcycle touring. I also love fly fishing. After Barb retires, we hope to travel extensively.
