Diane Harris (Moore)

I wanted to let Gary, Don, and Connie know that I finally watched "The Bucket List" last night. It made me cry, but I really, really enjoyed it. Not that it was a tear jerker, but just very touching.

I'm off to Colorado again tomorrow to see the kids out there and help out a little. How I wish our family was not so scattered. Anyway, have a good weekend everyone. See you in just a few weeks!

Love to all.

THANKS AGAIN! AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

Gary, my tear ducts are exhausted! That was a beautiful slide show, and the song couldn't have been more perfect. I join Jimmy in applauding you. You're the best.

I hope no one thinks I "talk" to much on this forum, but the computer is conveniently located in a very glamorous location near my washer and dryer, making it very easy to stop by and check in. It's hard for me to wash as much as a dishcloth without logging on!

Wishing everyone bluebirds and rainbows,
Diane

So I get up to fix a big Saturday morning breakfast for my bride... and I can't stop singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow."

Yesterday was my birthday --- 58! I watched the video Jim sent to Gary about againg gracefully and I laughed til there were tears. There were a couple of the scenes that I had to look @ hard to be sure I wasn't in them (since I look just like some of the characters)...
Then, I watched the video Gary made of 'then and now', and the slides of 'those we remember' as I listened to the neat version of "somewhere over the rainbow", and I cried.
Without getting too sentimental, I just want to say that the OCHS class of '68 is filled with very special people. This renewing of "old" friends and acquaintances fills me with memories and thankfulness!

love y'all.

Happy Birthday a day late, dear friend. There was a time I never forgot special days, but it seems those days are becoming fewer and fewer. Although I forgot your birthday, I can never forget you. You and many others are forever in my memory bank. One day when I'm really old, and wandering around the retirement home, not knowing what day of the week it is, somehow I bet I'll still be able to remember lots about the 60's and all the fun times they provided me at OCHS.

Sending my love from the shadow of Pikes Peak.

Happy (belated) Birthday Connie!!! I hope you were able to celebrate and give thanks for ALL those years. I used to dread getting older, now I'm just very thankful for each new day (even through the aches).
Diane, I am so jealous!! Everytime we see a picture of the Rockies, Sherron says, "Why did we ever leave there?". I guess the Lord just had other plans for us. I know you are enjoying the new grand baby.
I hope we can get recent pictures of more people so I can add them to the slide show. (Everyone seems to be enjoying it, so far.) I wish I had had better pictures of some individuals but had to go with what I had. So if any of you who haven't posted pictures are reading this - PLEASE, send me a current photo so I can add you to the slide show. The site that supports this will sell anyone a DVD of the presentation. I think it would be a great thing, if we can get everyone included. I plan on getting a picture of everyone at the reunion. I'll keep everyone posted and let them know what to do if they want to buy a copy.
Happy Monday one and all - and make it a GREAT week!!!

Don't be too jealous, Gary. Being able to visit pretty places is a high price to pay to see your kids and grandkids. Our kids did to us what we did to our parents--moved far away. However, thankfully we are able to visit often, though never as often as we wish. Sometimes it's hard letting our kids use those wings we work so hard to give them. God has been gracious to us though, and I have no cause for discontentment even on the days I'd like to be somewhere else. And we have tried to give our kids the gift our parents gave us, which was never laying a guilt trip on us for not moving back to Georgia like we meant to when we left. But I don't have "Georgia On My Mind" as my ring tone for nothing.

Hopefully others will soon be sending in current photos. I think that disc you mentioned would be great, and I'd sure enjoy one. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy catching up in the wonderful little ways this site provides. Judy, if you read this, I promise to call you when I get back!

GOOD MORNING CLASS OF 68! I TALKED TO TERRY WHITE LAST
NITE. I FOUND THEIR NUMBER ON "anywho.com" 229-336-3909.
HE SAID HE AND EDNA, (HOWARD), WERE PLANNING TO BE AT THE
REUNION. HOPE EVERYONE WILL HAVE A EXCELLANT DAY!

Diane you speak with such wisdom. Two of my daughters and four grandkids are in Kansas City til December and I miss them dearly. Thank God for "Skype" so we can occasionally see them. I am reminded of Jack Nicholson in "The Bucket List" desiring to kiss the most beautiful woman in the world before he died and how he finally accomplished that goal. Too often we fail to see the true value in the simple things. However, I am like the Bible verse my father used to love to quote, "the eye has never seen and the ear has never heard its fill." And neither works as well as they used to. Enjoy your time in C/S and hey, look out for the bears!

Good job Jim! Has anyone else heard from any of the folks we had not previously heard from? I sure wish more would get on this site and do profiles and "chat".
Gary, I will want a video...
Diane, when will you go back to Ohio?
I hope everyone is having a good week.

love,
connie

Connie, I get back about midnight on the 11th. Then Greg and Christy are coming to see us for the weekend.(One reason we won't be able to be at the meeting)

Yes, Jimmy, you are on the ball! Thanks again for everyone's efforts. And if anyone is reading this who hasn't yet signed in to "chat", we all would love for you to do so. Sometimes I feel like I'm monopolizing a conversation of sorts, and I sure don't want anyone else to think so. So, jot us down a few lines and let us hear from you. It has meant so much to me these last few months to reconnect. No matter where we've been or what we've been through, for a few years in the '60s we all walked into, around in, and out of each others lives. I, for one, am so thankful to have this chance to have you walk into my life again.

Blessings to one and all.

A "Happy Birthday" from me too, Donald! Jimmy, Connie knew it was his birthday because she is just one of those thoughtful folks that I wish I was more like. Anyway, Donald, have a great Friday! Everyone else, you too.

Thanks, Connie… and all of you for the birthday greetings!!! You’re the best! I have had a wonderful 08/08/08 thus far and the best is yet to come. Liz is going to take me out to dinner tonight for one of my favorite dishes… fried catfish! Normally I do stay away from fried foods (I love baked salmon and tilapia) but I just can’t resist good old southern fried catfish once in a while. I have been a “city boy” for almost 40 years now, but I am still a “country boy” at heart. And Liz bought a very small birthday cake for me with just enough for the two of us, and room for just one candle (Gary).

I do miss my brother Ron on what would be his birthday today too. May God bless his memory. I treat every birthday as another blessing, but my body sometimes reminds me that I am not as young as I used to be. My cardiologist tried to schedule a Nuclear Stress Test for me today to see if my “country heart” is doing ok, but I said no. Who wants to spend their birthday doing something like that? Anyway, I do have an appointment for the test on Tuesday morning and I would be grateful for your prayers.

Thanks again, Class of ’68. Have a great weekend!
Love & Hugs,
Don

You will have prayers Don.

As I sat on the side of the road with a flat tire this a.m. as I was on the way to work, Joel Colquitt came by and stopped. It was nice to see him and he plans to come to the reunion.

Gary, do you know an updated count of how many "classmates" are coming?

Ray sent me registration forms this morning but I already had everyone he sent me attending. Hopefully next Sunday Ray and I will "be in bed together" (so to speak - Don embarassed me into posting a Candid Shot) on the numbers. So far it looks like we will have a good showing.

Gary – I applaud you for your continued good work on the web site. You are really spoiling us! And I applaud you for posting that latest candid shot I sent of you and Ray in bed together. And, no, I didn’t do any “photo editing.” I wasn’t sure that you would post it but I’m glad you did. I think you and I can both attest to the fact that we are blessed to even be around for this reunion. And laughter is some of the best therapy we can ever have… even when we laugh at ourselves.

I would also like to say “thank you” one more time for all of the wonderful birthday wishes yesterday… on this forum, and your personal e-mail messages too. I will remember it as one of the best birthdays I ever had because of you, the Class of ’68. You really are a CLASS act! So here’s a big cyber hug for all of you! God Bless You Always!

Just wanting to put in my two cents worth, and say that I love all the things y'all have done, Gary and Don. Our site has become possitively snazzy!

Everyone have a great week!

Okay, Don has come up with another embarassing photo (Candid Shots) of, guess who?!? I was going to tie it to an accident I had many years ago (add a little chuckle factor) but my wife said it wouldn't be appropriate so I guess you'll just have to ask Charles McGarity about my "sticky fingers". I really LOVE our new logo!! I look around at some of the other Class Creator web sites and ours is right up there with the best now. Glad everyone is enjoying it. Please let me know if you have a recommendation on how to improve it.

I sure hope to see a lot of you on Sunday at 2!!!! I do have the key to the clubhouse, so we'll get to go down and check it out.

I hope you are all having a good week. Love you, my "old" friends.
