Gale Miller Obituary

Gale Stanley Miller 

On August 20, 2020, Gale Stanley Miller departed this world for a better place with God. Gale was born June 27, 1945, to Stanley Arthur and Norma Francis Miller at the Foster Hospital in Ventura. Gale was raised in Ojai and attended elementary, junior high and high school (Nordhoff) there. He excelled in basketball, football and baseball. He went on the play basketball for Ventura College. He joined the Air Force and was stationed at Vandenburg Air Force Base in Lompoc after basic training in Texas. 

After his discharge from the Air Force, Gale worked for several oil service companies retiring from Logan Oil Tools in Bakersfield. He then moved to Creswell. Oregon, and enjoyed his favorite hobby, photography 

Gale was a very likeable person and a friend to all. Besides his friends he made in the Air force (which he was still in contact with). He made many more especially playing slow-pitch ball in Ojai. All were friends for life. His lifetime friends, Tony Barrett, Dave and Yvonne Morris of Ojai and Liz and Bill Buchroeder of Frazier Park, plus many more. 

Preceded him in death were his parents Stan and Norma Miller, step child, Cha Cha Anderson and great step child Joey Leon. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of 29 years in Creswell. His sister Karen Phipps in Ojai, his nephews, Bill (Lisa) and Kevin Phipps (Nanette) in Ojai and Camarillo. His niece, Kerri (Eric) Kastle in Morgan Hill. He has several great nieces, Kieli and Zoe of Camarillo and Kelsey of Ojai, Phipps. Kayla Jesu (Max) of Ventura also Kandi Grosschmidt (Jered) Nicole Zaiss (Michael) and Emille Kastle of Morgan Hill. And one great nephew, Wyatt Phipps of Camarillo. He had 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew, 4 Step children. 8 step grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren, all living in California and Oregon. 

Gale was a very special person and will be missed by all that knew him. 

A celebration of life will be held when it is allowable.
