Remembering Mr. Kahdy

Last Sunday, September 15, found me attending a family reunion out-of-state. Nonetheless, I was aware that it has been one year since the passing of Mr. Kahdy, our beloved Enloe principal. There have been many class reunions, some attended by him, just as I was doing that day. Recently on Facebook someone wrote that although they attended the same school at the same time with others, they held no special remembrance nor fondness for the other students nor their time together. That was not my experience at Enloe. In fact, in the years since it's been quite clear that the bonds formed there have remained strong. The establishment of the Kahdy Scholarship proves that we have not forgotten those years together. Classmates also show up at funerals from time to time. All of that happens because of faculty, staff and students leaders who cared during and after our years together. I'm glad I was part of those classes and hope that the Class of '65 continues to value all of these traditions. Rest in eternal peace Mr. Kahdy.
