It's been a very long time! You were one of my first zone leaders when I entered into the mission field in Saskatoon! I want to thank you after all these years for the example you were to me. You were an outstanding example of what a missionary should be. You were soft spoken and carried a peaceful spirit about you. You were kind, sensitive and understanding. To me, you will always be thought of "as one of the truly great missionaries!" Wish you the very best.

I still can't get over you constantly eating all my big bags of Puffs in the biggest pot Golden Tonsils & I had! I'll never forget our experience out on the reservation when we got the truck stuck in the mud. Such spirituality, such inspiration, to pray for assistance when after all we could do to get out of the swamp failed .... suggested not by the missionaries, but a little Lamanite child! Elder Oakden was also my companion months later. I was the better companion! He had to have liked me better!! (You also drank up all my Red & Green La Victoria Hot Sauce from California) And to think you were my stellar example of a missionary seeing I was a greenie at the time. Such great memories. I love you Elder Papa even if you did steal my sunflower seeds and soap filled cookies sent from home!
After all these years! Thought I'd drop you a line to say hi. My great memories serving in downtown Calgary with you are still cherished to this day. Street displays, Bishop Gordon Murray, dropping an electrical projector in the bath tub while trying to memorize Jack West Slides, birds on the rooftop, unlocked entrance door, posters and city maps on the slanted walls, not to mention the gas oven... "The oven's lit!" The baptismal challenge to the Van Clief's, Loraine Winstanley's baptism, the Walkers, the Leavitt's. The hikes with Bro. Murray around Baniff (preparing you for your future assignment!) The list goes on... Just want to say thanks to a great Elder for overlooking the weaknesses and being truly devoted to the Lord's work. My wife and I presently serve in the Redlands Ca. Temple on Tuesdays and Saturdays and i presently serve as a teacher for early morning seminary. I love the youth and my love for the gospel continues to grow. I am forever grateful to my Heavenly Father for giving me the opportunity to serve a mission which planted the seeds for where I am today. I pray that I will never be an ungrateful servant. My birthday is November 7th which makes me 1 day older than you! I wish you the very best.
Good to See your picture after all these years. I have great memories of our time spent together. My wife and I presently work in the Redlands, Ca temple as ordinance workers. I'm still humbled at the thought of being a member of the Lord's church. I love the gospel and so grateful for all those who helped me strengthen my testimony. I'll be forever grateful to you as a friend and fellow missionary.
