March 18, 1962 - November 12, 2006

Had his final victory to be with the Lord on November 12, 2006 after a nine year battle with brain cancer. We loved him and we will miss him. He was a wonderful father, husband, brother, son and friend. Brian was born in Spokane on March 8, 1962. After graduating from Mead High School in 1980, he went to Washington State University to study teaching and coaching. There he also walked on the Cougar football team, and after a brief stint, walked off.

In 1984, he graduated from WSU and married Natalie K. McCloskey, also a 1980 Mead High School grad. They both began their teaching careers in DuBois, Idaho in the fall of 1984. Brian taught school and coached various athletic teams in Dubois, ID, Thompson Falls, MT and Priest River, ID, before Brian and Natalie returned back to Spokane to start his general contractor business in 1992. Brian and Natalie have five wonderful children, Andy (17), Zachary (15),Jacob (14), Megan (12) and Sharon (9).

Brian was passionate about his family and he was passionate about the Lord. Many were affected by Brian as demonstrated by so many that sought to love him and seek him out in his final days. Brian is also survived by his parents, Robert and Judy Wilkes of Bozeman, MT; brother, Tim and sister-in-law, Jane Wilkes of Homer, AK; brother, Tom and sister-in-law Marianne Wilkes of Colbert. Brian is preceded in death by his eldest brother Curtis Wilkes. Brian is also survived by numerous in-laws; Ron and Sharon McCloskey; Ken and Tammie Pecka; Jeff and Sherri McCloskey; Kathleen and Jason Hanson, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Northview Bible Church, 13521 N. Mill Rd., Spokane, WA at 3:00 P.M., Friday, November 17.
