OMG..Judy! For years, I had a memory of laying on a cot watching a big moon overhead and it was so spooky because of fog and someone was talking about bats flying around us and I was one scared brownie....was that our trip to Carlsbad?? Did we camp out? I never could camp out again after that experience!

BD...you gotta get off the potty subject with your Krapper Rapper and kiln prairie doggies...I have to go back and read your entries more than once to finally get it. Specifically, I am referring to your 2/21 entries which I just read this last weekend and your "medical terms" sounded out finally made sense and made me laugh!

Dorinda..you...a radical?? I want more of the story that lead up to YOU buying a gun!! Are we talking deer, rabbits, skunks, chickens???

Judy Gunnels (Love)

Aliece,
Yes we camped out on cots and we went and watched the flight of the bats at sundown. Danny and I are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.Danny is Chief Aide for the Potentate for the Shriners this year. We are really staying busy with that. Of course he is really busy clowning. He goes to the hospital in Amarillo every Sunday for visits so if you have anyone in BSA let us know so he can go visit them.

Judy, my grandson, 18 months, has been in BSA 3 times, but hopefully, he won't be there anymore. He has severe asthma and we are getting it under control. Let you know if anyone is there. Thank him for all his special work!

Watch out with that 22, Dorinda. Don't shoot the wrong thing.....

Dorinda Burton (Eargle)

The 22 Pistol is for shooting snakes. It is loaded with bird shot bullets and goes with me into the woods when I walk the dogs. I have learned a lot about snakes living so close to a pond and near the woods. We don't seem to have the rattlesnakes, but there are plenty of water moccasins.

Dorinda, the radicals are the ones who don't own guns. There are more "snakes" out there than you can imagine. My wife, her sister and their cousin just got their Texas concealed handgun license. They had a blast and are always bugging me to take them shooting. Any other of you ladies have one? They who beat their swords into plows...will surely plow for those who don't.

I just talked to Suella this morning for about an hour. She is planning to go to the backyard supper Friday evening and the parade. She mentioned remembering the Easter Egg hunts at her Mother's backyard, and also recalled Richard Edwards finding the winning Egg. Mark, she said you recalled that event.

Charlotte Grantham (O'Daniel)

Thanks, Marcia. I will add Suella to the count.

I don't have a concealed weapon license, but I can shoot a shotgun and a pistol with pretty good accuracy if I need to. Haven't thought about carrying a concealed weapon, but who knows....I used to be deadly at skeet shooting.

Be careful with those snakes Dorinda. We have our share of rattlers.....

Joe Don,

I've had a gun and concealed weapons permit since I was mugged about 10 years ago coming out a grocery store! The mugger attacked me, broke the strap of my purse and took off with it. I chased him for about 2 blocks, screaming, until a lady came along and tackled him and got my purse back! The police showed up about that time or I would have beaten him with the gallon of milk I had just purchased and lugged with me as I chased him!

I was so mad and traumatized, I soon purchased a 22 pistol but have calmed down since and only carry it with me when I travel...like to class reunions!

Aliece, You go girl!! I would have liked to seen that. I do not have any concealed weapons. But I do have a long haired miniature dapple dacshound that would bite anybody that tried to harm me.

I've won a "Bronze Medal" at Wii Target Practice - does that count?

I too am a proud CHL holder. I carry a Walther PPK 32 cal. in my boot at all times. JD you're correct....there are a lot of "snakes" out there...in some of the most unsuspecting places.

Hell, if I had known everyone was going to be packing I could have saved us even more money on hotel rooms. We could have stayed in one of the places I mentioned in an earlier post and had plenty of action. Since we will probably stay up half the night anyway, we could have put our mattresses in the windows and fired on the drive-bys in the parking lot.

At any rate, I'll ask the manager at the Hampton if he minds us setting up our empties in the parking lot and plinkin' a few just for fun. Boy, the prospects of this reunion keep getting better by the day!!

.32 caliber? isn't that what bad bad Leroy Brown had? He was a pimp, I think.

JD,
I think you're right...I can never remember if it was Leroy Brown or James Brown that was a pimp...but at least he was working! (he wore a 32 gun in his pocket for fun and a razor in his shoe). He was obviously concerned about his appearance if kept a razor with him all the time. Are you inferring that I might still be pimpin'?

Not any more. If you can't afford the 24" wheels with spinners, people mistake you for a senior citizen....it was too degrading.

Thank goodness, more common ground. After two wrecks I bid my motorcycle days goodbye in the 70's. The first time I met my future wife I was missing about 1-1/2 square feet of skin off my forearms, but pistolas rule. Maybe at the next reunion we can rent out Rustic Range for some small arms fire and larger for those who still have a bazooka. It is a warm feeling to be packing and with my bulk, I can carry whatever caliber I feel like that day.

On another note we guys need to be careful what comes out of our mouths sometimes. A customer, we'll call him Rob, called and ordered a dozen roses for his anniversery and I asked him how he wanted his card to read. He told me:
"Happy Annivery, Love, Rob or whatever". I asked him if he wanted "whatever" to be capitalized or not? Scared him, he said no-no please do not add the "whatever" We men sometime have a bad time expressing our love for our loved ones. See everyone soon.

Marcia, so was Jill Taylor, Miss January 1970.

JDM, Miss January? I think I know her. Can you post a PIC on here and see if I recognize her?

KB, maybe all who want to pack can set up a makeshift range on Friday afternoon about 4pm! From what I have been reading on here, we all are packing radicals. I certainly believe in gun control, that means hitting what you aim at!!! (Controling your gun)
Sorry to hear about your personal experiences concerning road rash. Sounds like you had a severe case.

Fred, I suspect her picture was one of the many we had on the wall of the apartment in Dallas.

I believe it's Mrs. Gatewood's 4th grade class picture in our photo gallery that it seems all the guys are wearing "Dr. Spock" ears. I guess that was a ear growth year.
