In Memory

Susan Parry (Bess)

Susan Parry (Bess)

  Susan Parry Bess          February 22, 1946 — February 1, 2022

“In Feb. 2022 our precious mother Susan Bess (Parry) passed away peacefully. Our family spent the final days by her bedside which were some of the most joyous and heartbreaking times of our lives, reminiscing and talking about old and fun (and not so fun) times, putting our lives into perspective and cherishing every last moment we could be together.

Mom touched the lives of many people - she had a hilarious sense of humor and a kind heart. Our family was so lucky to grow up in her warmth. Susan had 3 children and 2 grandchildren whom she blessed with her unconditional love and gentle, accepting and guiding nature. She had a lifelong love for Edmonds and would often drive the family up for day visits.”

Exerpted from an email dated 10/5/22 from Susan’s daughter, Mattie Bess.

Always sad to see another classmate passing. I see this took place back in Feb., but I am just seeing it now. Susan was a classmate I believe from elementary school on. I remember her as quiet, but a really sweet and caring girl. As I scrolled through all the names of classmates we have lost I am reminded that yesterday is gone, tomorrow is unknown, and today is the time we need to cherish. Enjoy today my friends!

To me Susan was a true intellectual. She was gentile and had a wry wit at the same time. She added a touch of class to the EHS roster. I loved her voice and her laugh. We had several classes together. I will remember her fondly. Condolences to her family. Thanks for the memories!

I had a great time with Susan at the 40th Reunion, so special. A few of us girls from the class had lunch together since and Susan brought all her classmate pictures, she had kept, with her to reminisce about, a fun lunch.
