I think that the next time we could leave the microphone open so anyone could use it at any time during the evening.

Nancy Olinger Bieber suggests that everyone go to the microphone and say their name.

For Jim--you folks did a superb job of organizing the whole weekend! Every detail was covered, and we jsut showed up and enjoyed it while the events flowed seamlessly. Marvelous work to all!!

PS--I had some requests for the Class Invocation I offered at the meal. How is a good way to post it to this site?

Nancy, I think that is a good idea but I am not sure we would have enough time to have 150 people come to the microphone. Next time if we would list all the people in the book who plans to attend than if you see someone in the book you would like to get with you could go to the microphone and ask for them. We are having a meeting on Wednesday and we will be discussing ways to improve on our next reunion.

Steve,  Thank you for the kind words to the committee, and if you would just email me your invocation I will copy it and make a link on the Home page for everyone to see.

The committee did a spectacular job, especially considering we haven't had a reunion since the 25th.  The get-together at the Castle on Friday night was every bit as much fun as the reunion itself, and Jody and Mark deserve a big round of applause for hosting it.  I was amazed how many people I recognized without looking at their name tags.

I received the group photo this past week, and it looks like the only person I didn't get to see that I would have liked to was Jim Tennant.  His dad was our family doctor when I was young, and we both lost our mothers (who were good friends) last year.

Looking forward to the 55th.

To Jim and the whole committee,

Thanks for including me, even though I was a '62 Grad. It was great to see so many people that I spent the greatest years of my life. Franklin School and North Side were wounderful experiences with some GREAT friends. Thanks again for the wonderful job you guys did. See you in 5 yrs. the GOOD LORD willing.        MARTY

Charol & I want to thank everyone on the committee involved in the reunion. It was fantastic. The tour of North Side on Friday went very well also as well as the tour of the Castle afterwards. We are definitely looking forward to the 55th reunion good lord willing. We didn't get to visit with everyone but enjoyed our night with old friends and new memories !

I want to add my thank-you to the reunion's organizing committee and to the stewards of this nicely-done Web site.

I'm writing this on Nov. 13 from Mysore, India on the beginning leg of a long, slow working trip through south India and beyond. Since the reunion I've thought again and again of the friendliness I encountered there and the unexpected, teddy-bear comfort that has come with rediscovering faces and smiles I hadn't seen for a half century.

We've lived as I think our grandparents did in a time of bewildering change, and I have spent much of  the time since 1963 on the move, so to find North Side, like a well-tended oak, still where it was, still flourishing, and my classmates still recognizable, gives me a mental home base as I travel these ancient Indian roads.

I look forward to our next get-together, and I wish you all safe, healthy days until then.

As we share memories of our 50th reunion with friends, they are amazed by all the planned activities of our weekend as well as our web site.  Kudos to the committee and our classmates for a wonderful weekend and the opportunity to stay connected!

The November 16th get together with 14 other classmates and spouses at Don Hall's Gas House was VERY enjoyable. We look forward to getting together every so often. Please let us know each time there is a chance to do it again!!!!!  :)

Steve Doan's inspired prayer touched us all by addressing our past, present and future in an inspired fashion. Perhaps one of our classmates still in the Fort Wayne area can forward a copy to the local newspaper. (Journal Gazette still around?) His prayer deserves a wider audience and would be a solace to many. Best to all, Gregg Meister

My mother attended Franklin in the mid-1920's and was a member of the first NSHS graduating class of 1930.  How old is Franklin anyway?
