Alice and I were neighbors, as well as classmates. We were in grade school together at St. Joe Center and remained good friends through high school and for some years after. Eventually, Alice moved away; and we grew apart, keeping in touch only rarely. I have so many fond memories of her wit, her intellect, and her amazing musical ability. Alice's brother, Don, was a good friend of my brother, Phil. Don has moved back to Fort Wayne in recent years, and I've appreciated getting to know him again and reminiscing together about those long-ago days of our childhood.
