Michael F. Pletcher
Oh my! I had no idea that Barb had passed in 1991. Too young, Barb was. I knew Barb all through school-from elementary through high school. I had a crush on her, for some time. RIP, Barb and hugs from Michael Pletcher
Kathy L. Ross (Martin)
I, too remember Barb with fondness, I remember sleepovers at her house on Irvington and at her family's lake cottage. I chuckle when I remember Sadie Bacon Simon pull Barb aside, after watching Barb descend the stairs at Forest Park, and request that Barb remove the full crinoline from under her skirt. How humiliating, what was she to do about it? She went to the girls restroom, removed the crinoline and stuck it in her locker. Bless her heart, it was the fashion of the day, but it was too much for Sadie, what would Sadie say about today's young teen's attire?
I am so blessed to be in touch with Barb's daughter, Deb, she is my dental hygienist and I visit with her every 6 months. Her grandfather would be pleased that she followed in his footsteps into dentistry. I was aware that Barb had had a bout with cancer, but thought when I saw her at our 25th reunion she had beat it, however I later learned from her daughter that she was wearing a wig that night and still fighting. Barb was able to meet her first grandson, before her death the day after Mother's Day, 1991.
Barb is missed, and I thank God for bringing her into my life and for the footprints she has left on my heart. When I visit with Deb I feel I still have a piece of my friend to hold onto.
Hoping we will meet again, Love, Kathy
