James Hohman Obituary

James "Jim" Hohman, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, surrounded by family. Born in Fort Wayne on December 14, 1944, Jim was a graduate of North Side High School class of '63. He served his country proudly as a member of the US 1st Squadron 9th Cavalry of the 1st Air Calvary Division in Vietnam earning the Bronze Star with Valor and the Air Medal. Jim worked at GTE for 35 years before retiring. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Christina (Gregory) Brinker, Douglas (Jeanne) Hohman; grandchildren Hannah, David, Madeline, Dean and Vivienne; brother Richard (Su) Hohman; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Mary Irene Hohman; brother, Thomas Hohman; sister-in-law, Sandra and his nephew, Michael Hohman. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr, Ft. Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave, Ft. Wayne. Committal following the Mass at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN, at 1p.m.

Thomas E. Cross

He was a good friend at North, one of my favorites, over the years we had not spoken. after High school I went into the Navy in 1965. Not even makig it bact to Fort Wane until 1976. Then off to Missouri. He was a good man with a good life outlook when we were friends. He will no doubt be missed by many.  Tom Cross
