I am sad to hear about losing Steve. What great memories of our times together at NSHS & our years together as members of the track team - fond memories. He never came back to see us at reunions. I alweays wonder why............comments? ..steve

One of the nicest people in our class. If I recall correctly Steve's points from a 2nd or 3rd place finish in the 880 was the margin of victory in NSHS's victory in the 1963 state track meet. Heart felt condolances to his family.

I am saddened by the passing of Steve. His brother Tom , Steve , and I played baseball through Little League. His dad was our coach and Grandpa Konow was our trainer. His mother would make treats for us to consume after the games. Steve was our catcher and his brother played 3rd base. Steve also won the Indiana State Championship running the 1/2 mile. Jim Keller was also on the team. What fun we had🏌️⚾️⛳️Bless the family and his loved ones. Scottie Pitser

Steve was all those things you others have said, and he was also a very funny guy. His sense of humor was a joy to all of us. Prayers for Steve's family.

Enjoyed many wonderful rounds of golf with Steve during our senior year and through the college summer breaks. I tried hard to locate him to participate in our 50th HS reunion, but was unsuccessful. I am glad to how that he was still enjoying golf in his later years.

I too am sorry to hear of "Orange's" passing. We lived about 2 blocks apart and our father's both worked at GE. As grade schoolers, we went "trick or treating" with our older brothers, on a freezing night. Our costumes were like the "Knights of the Round Table", but we only lasted about an hour due to the cold!
I was one of the foursome to golf with Steve on Saturday mornings at Foster Park. Steve Esterline and Dick Schmidt were the other two. We were met each morning by Mr. Leo Casso,(our Franklin School teacher/coach), who was the starter at the course. He always had a welcoming word for all of us.
I will remember all of our good times together. My condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.
