Online Computer Gaming

I've had several hobbies thru the years starting out with an indian head penny collection to a rock collection and an arrow head collection. All of these while growing up in Holdrege. When computers came out in the 70s and my brothers and sisters lived in different parts of the country, an easy way to still play together was with online internet computer gaming.

While my daughter was growing up, we played the Mario Brothers and similar Nintendo games when the nieces and nephews would come over for a LAN party. Later on, when computers were in fashion and the kids moved away, we graduated to online computer gamining over the internet.

It's a hobby (or habit) I still do today with my younger brother Mark in Washington state. We don't do any TWL competition game play (first person shooters) anymore. We leave that to the teenagers with lightning fast reflexes! We're currently playing Wolfpack, Assualt Squad 2, Space Engineers and Post Scriptum which are a slower pace. We use either TeamSpeak or Discord to talk with each other during game play. You would be suprised at the number of Baby Boomers still playing games together into their 70s and 80s. We can't run and play like we used to, be we still enjoy playing games together. We'll continue to do so as long as the fingers work on the keyboard and we can still see the monitor.

If you have played online computer games, reply with a post so I don' feel like the only one with this hobby!  P.S. - The first online computer game I played was DOOM when only dialup internet connects were available back in the 70s . Note - I got to know people from all over the country, including France, never met most of them but we became good friends.
