You da man, Gary...

For some reason, my time zone preference had been changed to Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore time... How that happened, I have no idea.  I've noticed the clock difference for the last week or so.

All is well now.  Thanks

Reporting live from Marietta, GA... USA... 3:22 pm Eastern Time... this is Don

OK, Gary, I'll bite. All your references to Ohio finally made me comment. Funny map. We are in the same time zone though, as you probably know, but baited me anyway. Glad you are feeling better.

No news here. Spring is toying with us, meaning that all snow is gone and the sun is shining, and it is currently a balmy 45 degrees. We are certain to have colder weather with at least a bit of snow before I can put on my flip flops.

Still have Inez in my prayers. Woke up at 4:30 this morning thinking of her.

Jim, thanks for the news from Roy. If you find out his room #, I'd love to send a card. I'll check back to your post and see if you listed it. My memory gets lost from one second to the next!

May your Thursday be a lovely one.

Greetings and salutations.  Nothing personal about Ohio, Diane.  Just seems to be the most popular state to make fun of right now.  I guess every state has to take a turn.  I would look for another state but its not as funny if you don't know anyone living in that state.  Now if you move to West Virginia ..... Don, glad we got the date and time thing straightened out.  I know that option wasn't available when we started the site.  Now I wonder how many other might be having the same issue but never pay attention to the posting time.  Glad Liz is feeling better. She will continue in my prayers along with Inez and Roy.  Here's a little something to make your day.  If you tend to be high strung, put away the guns and anything breakable and have a few drinks or take a couple of pills before viewing.  Guaraneteed to piss you off.  Later.

Excuse me while I throw up.

Gary... just for the heck of it, I timed how long it takes for the National Debt to go up an additional $1,000,000... (that's million with an "m")... an unbelievable 45 seconds!  We are in big trouble folks!

They may have a tough time getting the $128,000 that I (one taxpayer) owe on our National Debt.

I think I heard somewhere that our National Budget has increased by 25% since Obama took office two years ago!  And the Democrats are whining about cutting that budget by 5%!!!!  It is totally crazy folks.  They have NO sense of fiscal responsibility.

Uh oh, my blood pressure is going up.  Let me get back to the Braves game on radio.

Sorry Don.  Didn't mean to make you sick.  That link has a lot of information and a lot more linked.  If you look in the upper right hand corner there is a link "Debt Clock Time Machine".  You can actually look ahead and look back several years.   You can see what the various debts were in 2008 for instance.  I think its kind of sobering and IT WILL STOP!  No matter what any group says, unless some drastic choice changes are made now, the whole thing will come to a screaching halt and then there will not be reductions, there will be total eliminations.  If I may paraphrase, save now or starve later.  Later.

MORNING MATES,

I HEARD THEY DID THE ENDOSCOPE ON ROY YESTERDAY, AND

I WAS TOLD THE CANCER HAD SPREAD. I DON'T KNOW HOW

MUCH, BUT THE DOCTORS HAVE ELECTED TO TREAT WITH

CHEMO. WHICH DOESN'T SOUND GREAT TO ME.

I UNDER STAND THEY WILL PREFORM SOME PROCEDURE TODAY.

AND THEN HE MAY BE ABLE TO COME HOME. I'LL LET YOU

KNOW WHAT I HEAR.

LATER

JIM

Thanks for the update, Jim.  I hope that they can come up with a treatment for Roy that helps.  Keep us posted.

And Pee Wee... I am praying that Inez is making progress.  Please give us an update if you check in.

Have a great weekend folks.  Looks like a soggy one for us here in Metro Atlanta.

Happy SOGGY Friday from the Classic City.  I see Don is smiling (picture on previous post).  The Braves won yesterday even if it did take them to the bottom of the 9th!  American Idol finalists have been selected and Georgia is well represented with two entrants in what appears to be a very talented group.  One is even from my birth city, Valdosta.  Jim, sorry its a little too soggy for golf, but sure you would enjoy reading this story - Tebow, Nicklaus pair up at Honda Classic. Very impressive drive but no score given. Could be like the old joke of the golf playing gorilla who putted just like he drove!! I too remain anxious to hear how Inez is doing.  Was going to call Pee Wee but left my cell phone at home this morning and don't have her number.  Jim, thanks for keeping us updated on our hometown hero, Roy.  I pray he does well.  My cousin started with kidney cancer that spread to his lungs.  He underwent chemo and is now doing great!  I trust that Roy will do the same.  From all us survivors, it ain't over till its over!!  Okay, that's enough issues from this group!!! Everyone else out there stay SAFE and WELL.  Have a bless weekend!  Later.

Hi all,

I don't know how many of you will be checking in this weekend, but the news is not good about Inez. Her condition is just deteriorating, the doctors have done all they can do. The family made the decision to turn off the respirator today, so it's just a matter of time now. Please be praying for her family.

It is so hard to even find the right words to respond to the latest news on Inez.  It is a sad time for the Class of 68.  My prayers are with Inez's family (and with you Pee Wee) during this most difficult time.  Thanks for keeping us informed Kathy.

Dear Classmates of 1968,

I can only speak from the heart at this moment and I'm not such a formal person.  It is with great sadness that I have to inform you all that Inez passed away this morning, March 5, 2011 at 8:20.

I have talked with a couple of the family members and they told me that she was removed from all support around 4:15 p.m. yesterday.  So she lived several hours on her own and left them on God's timing.  That was very comforting to them.

Arrangements have not been made at this time.  As soon as I am aware of dates and times I will post it on the Message Forum.  Inez's home address is: 73 Bedford Drive, Hull, GA  30646 - for sending cards, etc.  Please continue to pray for her family.

With Love,  "PeeWee"

I am so sorry, Pee Wee.  My condolences to you and to Inez's family.  My prayers are with you all.  Inez was a strong and courageous woman of God.  Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Diane Harris (Moore)

Pee Wee, Dick and I are so very sorry at hearing this sad news about Inez. I was in the grocery store and Judy called on my cell phone to tell me. There I was, doing the most mundane of tasks, and a family is going through the most deepest loss. After hearing the news I did not complain about the cost of my groceries or the fact that I had to go home and put them all away. Forgive me, Lord, for ever complaining. I should only give thanks. If only Inez could have been given many, many more years to do all the things that I take for granted. It was not in the Divine plan.

Should it be decided to give flowers from our class, which I think would be a lovely gesture, I will certainly send payment from Dick and me.

Sending lots of love to you, Pee Wee. You have been a good and dear friend to Inez. Our prayers will be for her family, and for you, and the giant void that has surely been left by the loss of someone who was loved so greatly.

Peewee, I was so saddened to hear the news about Inez this morning.  Someone had posted on another site that she was a wonderful mother and grandmother and friend.  We all know this to be true, but you were especially close and will really miss her in your life.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family and also the class of 1968.

I will forever remember looking down a long forgotten hall. Seeing two

beautiful girls dancing arm in arm--- smiling from ear to ear. Peewee

you two were such a beautiful sight. I'm so sorry for our loss!

Inez you truly are a beautiful lady. Heavens streets are shining even

brighter this afternoon. We'll all miss you ever so much until we meet

again.

My deep and heartfelt sympathy to Inez's family and friends....

I am thankful that we got together for our 40th. high school reunion.   It was wonderful to renew aquaintences....   Inez was one of those people I had not seen in many, many years.    She worked hard on planning the reunion and coming to "gatherings" whenever she could.    She was a sweet and good person and she blessed many lives.   She loved the Lord and her soul is now where there is no more pain, tears, worry, etc. - and we are promised the grandest of reunions one day.   Rest in peace Inez.   You will be very missed - but never forgotten by the class of '68.

I too wish to extend my deepest sympathy to all in the loss of a very dear lady.  May God be with her family and friends during this time of grief and mourning.

Dear Classmates of 1968,

It is so unbelievable!  I cannot grasp life without my dearest best friend in the whole wide world!  Thank you all for your sweet notes about her.  It is all true, she was such a sweet person and loved the Lord with all her heart.  I could write a book about our fun times together since the First Grade at Oglethorpe County School in 1956.  Let's see, that would be 55 years with a few years of being out of touch after high school.  Inez's mother just recently celebrated her 94th birthday.  Inez has two beautiful daughters that you have looked at on her "profile" and six grandchildren AND just had her first great-grandchild, it was a boy!  (Second boy in the family of girls.)  You guessed it, they all look like her!  I swear, you can spot them all a mile away.

I wanted to give you all the information on arrangements for the funeral.  Tomorrow, Sunday, March 6,  they will have visitation during the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Athens East Chapel, 4355 Lexington Road.  You can look it up on Mapquest if you need directions.  The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7th at the WORD OF LIFE CHURCH on Highway 72 in Colbert, Ga (you can see this church from the highway - sort of between Colbert and Hull).  This is her home church and the same church her brother Herman Nation pastors.  He is a wonderful preacher of the Word and I know this is going to be challenging for him.

Please get the word out to all our classmates who do not read the Message Forum, if you can.  I am calling a lot of them but not able to call everyone.  Donald, Diane, Gail, Jimmy and Connie - I know you all thought a lot of her and cared about Inez - and Diane, "she will be missed but NEVER forgotten."

Keep the family in your prayers.

Love, PeeWee

Some have mentioned sending flowers from our class for Inez.  After talking with PeeWee tonight, I told her that I will be glad to see about that.

I have just contacted Paula from the Buds & Bows Florist in Crawford (I didn't know until tonight that she is also Inez's cousin)...

We are sending flowers from the Class of '68.     Decided to just send something red and white since those were our school colors.    I do hope that is o.k. with everyone.

Many thoughts and prayers for "old friends" tonight...

Connie,

Thanks for ordering flowers, I will be glad to help pay for them.

All who loved Inez have a sad, heart today because of our loss. We know that she is in a wonderful place w/God and those who have Christ in their heart will meet her again one day. I can just imagine her meeting w/her daddy who was a wonderful, sweet man. He pastored for many years and I rode to churches w/Inez and her mama & daddy all over the country when we were growing up. There were many many times she & I went to each others homes and spent the night or weekend. During the brief time we lived in Colbert, my daughter, Beth & her daughter, Jennifer were friends & went home w/one another. These are memories that I wiil cheish.

I could go on & on, but will hush now.

Love to all my friends,

Kathy

Thank you, Connie for making the arrangements for the flowers for Inez.  I too will be happy to contribute.  I am thankful for the opportunity to get to know Inez better the last three years.  She was a beautiful person, inside and out.  I will miss her.  She was taken from us far too soon.  Pee Wee... I know that you are really hurting now and will probably miss her most of all.  I thought I would  share one of the photos I took of the two of you at one of the planning meetings we had at Connie's house prior to the 2008 Class Reunion.  Great memories.  Rest in Peace, Inez.  We look forward to another Class Reunion with you some sweet day on the Streets of Gold.
