I enjoyed my senior year and had a French girlfriend for awhile, but for the prom at the George V, Neil Fisher and I invited two American girls from Germany.  Somehow Mr Hull (English ) found out about it and called the two of us up to his desk for a tounge lashing.  Oh well....  Today that would not be a problem.  Eevery one just shows up.  As nice as the George V was (I got to know their conceige very  well in the 90's ) I'd rather have gone to the Jules Verne !

I also remember the 'variety' shows we did to gets the funds for the prom at the Eiffel Tower.

I mean, do we have bragging rights as the ONLY American Junior/Senior class  to have held prom night at the Eiffel Tower?

Just arrived in port at Hamburg(er) Germany on a ship.  Priscilla and I will meet with Liz Gobeille soon to renew old memories.  Older and slower, but friendship prevails.  Mickey Coe '62

Yon Lindsey (1954)

Yon H Lindsey (1954) passed away in January 2026. In going through his affairs I, his son, came across this website. He had fun memories of his time there most notably a scooter trip through Southern Europe on $3 per day. He was a wonderful father with 7 children. Gratefully, Mom is still with us. He had an insatiable curiosity and could talk with anybody about pretty much anything. By the time he graduated high school he had lived in 27 places from South Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Germany, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and France. I recall him saying that he had never been to a school for more than one year except for PAHS. He is deeply missed and knowing him he would hope that life has turned out as well for you as it has for him.

Albert Brown (1968)

Does anyone recall the spelling of our French Teacher's name?  My spelling is "Aireaux" but is just sounded out.  There was a slang name for her which I won't repeat.  1962 9th grade PAHS.

Nicki Fairlamb (de Naray) (1967)

Albert - I did not arrive in Paris until 1966, but could you be thinking of Madame Peneau? She was my 2nd year French teacher. She had served in the Resistance during WWII. Of course, it could be there was another teacher there in 1962.

I was at PAHS from Sept. 1957 until June 1960. My French teacher was. Mlle. Herault, AKA Airhole!  I think that this is who who are thinking of. I kind of liked her, she was a bit humerous, very nice and a decent teacher!

Albert, this comes straight from the 1962 Bavarian Terrapin yearbook. My French teacher was  Ms. Hugette Albert. There was a second French teacher listed as Collette Simons.

I thought Fr teacher in 58-59 was Straub( we hid his spectacles regularly) 

Mike Bertin (1968)

I don't remember her name but she spoke French with a very soft southern drawl. I think she was from one of the Carolinas. A very nice person and a good teacher.

Mike Greene (1961)

The two French teachers in the 1961 Yearbook are Dorothy DiOrio and Yvonne Taranger.  Micky Coe was in love with Yvonne.  I think Nicole Boudier also taught French.  I know Misses DiOrio's brother came to replace her when she went on sabatical.

Dean Whitlock (1967)

Mike, that was Mlle. Ellenberg. She was indeed from South Carolina, but spoke French so proficiently that she spoke English with a French accent on top of her southern drawl. She also taught the higher French classes and insisted on nothing but French while in class. An excellent teacher, as were most of the PAHS faculty.

Thanks Hank, Herault it is. 
.  Herault gave me such a great accent that at Alexander Graham Bell Junior High School a year and a half later, the French teacher requested I read all the in class assignments.  Later, at Penn State, the French Lab teacher offered me a job as an undergrad assistant in French Lab.  That was the summer of 77 nearly 15 years later.

Bill Laudani, that's the slang name I didn't want to publish.  Because of the gift she gave me, I mean her no disrespect.  And thanks to the poster who said she was single not married.
Does anyone have a yearbook from 1960?  Does it have the 4th grade class and teachers in it?  I remember my 4th grade teacher as literally saving my soul.  I hated school up til that point (I still thought it was a jail for kids.)
