Barbara K. (Atkinson) Brodowsky
Barbara K. (Atkinson) Brodowski, 68, of The Centers at St. Camillus, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was raised in Newark, Ohio, and lived in Sherrill, NY for 10 years before moving to Syracuse in 1972. Barbara was a 1968 graduate of Verona-Sherrill Central School and received a master's degree in social work and public administration from Syracuse University. She was a social worker at Loretto for 14 years and Jewish Family Services for three years, retiring in 2003. She loved pets, especially dogs, cats and horses.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Katherine Atkinson. Surviving are her son, Ben Brodowski of Syracuse; daughter, Sara Brodowski of Syracuse; sister, Susan (Charles) Boyd of Victoria, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be Thursday, January 10 at 3 p.m. at The Centers at St. Camillus, 813 Fay Rd., Syracuse. Private burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
