I'm saddened to read about Kathy's passing. I'd known her since Memorial School in Maywood.  We reconnected last year through this web site and were looking forward to seeing each other at the reunion.  I didn't know she was ill and was disappointed not to see her there.  I have many memories of Kathy and will share two: 1)  In junior high school, her ambition was to join the Peace Corps in Ethiopia as a nurse and meet Haile Selassie!  She did fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse, but joined the Air Force instead of the Peace Corps. 2) She tutored me for the math portion of the SAT, patiently but unsuccessfully. (I'd be embarassed to reveal my score.  I was always a word person and a math illiterate.)  My condolences to Kathy's brother Jim (also our classmate) and to all her family and friends.  Barbara Ross (Bullough)

I am saddened by this and and would like Jim and the Owens family to know what a great classmate she was in BHS. We had a bunch of classes together and I remember her well. She was a happy and kind girl. We had lots of laughs, especially  in Biology. Rest in peace Kathy.

I was sad to hear about Kathy's passing.  I have nothing but pleasant memories of her. She was a classmate I went all through school with and was in Girl Scouts with.  Our mothers were on several Girl Scout committees together.  We saw each other several times after graduation at the Maywood 4th of July festivities.  I remember very clearly her desire to be a nurse and was so happy to learn she had fulfilled that dream.  My condolences to brother Jim and the whole family.

My  heart felt  condolences  go  to  her  brother  Jim  and  her  husband  and  family
