Miss McCoy – actually Mrs. Ruth McCoy Banta – was born in 1901 and was less than three months shy of 100 when we lost her in 2000. She was not only my older brother’s and younger sister’s kindergarten teacher and mine, but our mother’s as well!  They don’t make ‘em like that any more, or at least not very many.
