Philip J. Matoska

Philip John Matoska, 63, of Oak Island died on Saturday (May 8, 2004) in Central Florida.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (today) in St. James Chapel at St. James Plantation in Southport with Pastor Joe Tursi officiating.

Born in Irvington, N.J., Mr. Matoska taught public schoolchildren for 36 years in Ocean Township, N.J. He was Catholic and a member of the Fishing Club of Oak Island.

Mr. Matoska is survived by his wife, Janet Matoska; sons, John Matoska and wife Cari of Wilmington, James Matoska and wife Kelly of Orlando, Fla., and Christopher Matoska and wife Andrea of Stuart, Fla.; sisters, Margaret Holden of Hope Sound, Fla., and Kathy Matoska of Hazleton, Pa.; and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cameron, Cady and Kendall Matoska.

Dobbs Funeral Home of Orlando, Fla., is in charge of the arrangements.
