After earning degrees from Taylor University & Ball State University, I taught secondary school for 9 years and then transitioned into the family business for 37 years, (Fred Myers Pianos Organs Clocks).

What does a band & orchestra oboe player do during marching band season? Bill Hatt put me in the percussion section playing the cymbals. The next year he decided he needed a drum major. I was quite uneasy in that role...the twirlers were encouraging which wasn't too bad :)

While I was on faculty 1968-70 at NSHS, it was a wonderful experience to get to know our 1963 faculty as colleagues! Charles Clark was a wonderful mentor. I would see By Hey at church on occasion prior to his death in 2019.
