Jep Patrick Hudspeth, Sr., 67, died at his home at Runs Creek Farm in Clyo, GA on Sunday, March 14, 2010 after a brief illness. Born in Dothan, Alabama, he grew up in Covington, GA and graduated from Newton County High School. After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine, he spent 2 years in the United States Air Force before moving to Savannah. In Savannah, he established a successful veterinary practice, Southside Hospital for Animals, PC and later in Richmond Hill, The Richmond Hill Animal Hospital. After his retirement he enjoyed cattle farming in Clyo, GA. He was a member of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and the Georgia Cattleman's Association. He was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Eileen Moreno Hudspeth, parents Emma Lou Moates and Jep Dalton Hudspeth, and brother in law Albert Moreno, Jr. He is survived by two sons, J. Patrick Hudspeth, Jr. (Karen) and Dr. Gordon Scott Hudspeth (Mandy) and daughter Amy Hudspeth Tighe (Aaron); granddaughters Kristen Louise Hudspeth, Kathleen Elizabeth Arnsdorff, and Patricia Anne Arnsdorff; grandsons Jep Dalton Hudspeth and Athen Scott Hudspeth; sisters Martha Jean Brinson (Paul), Joan Moss (Kenneth), and Joyce C. Hudspeth; sister in law Martha Moreno; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Alice Steyaart.
