Personal Summary
for
Pam Alfrey Hernandez
President, The Right Reflection

Pam received the Southeast Distinguished Alumni award in 2016 for her accomplishments at Woodman Life followed by the founding of her consulting firm, The Right Reflection.

After graduating from LSE, Pam received a BS in Education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL) in 1975 and an MA from the same school in 1978.

After teaching high school English at Omaha Burke for eight years, Pam spent 30 years in the financial services industry starting as an individual contributor and ending as Chief Operating Officer at Woodmen Life in Omaha. She hired, developed and led, at all levels of her organization from entry to executive level and across multi-functions from Marketing to HR to IT Operations. As she rose through the different levels of the organization, she realized the importance culture plays in the success of an organization and the well-being of its employees. A strong believer in Joseph Campbell’s quotation, “The privilege of a lifetime is to be who you are,” she became interested in what makes individuals and organizations thrive.

It was this interest that led her to the Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology program at the University of Pennsylvania. Here she learned how to bring about transformational change in individuals and organizations. She completed this program in 2014 and in early 2015, started her coaching and leadership development company, The Right Reflection.

“The Right Reflection grew out of my UPenn capstone of the same name. It was about how we see ourselves only through the reflection of others. It explored the importance of self clarity as the starting point for acting boldly and living fully. Change is often necessary to achieve our highest life aspirations, but more often than not, true transformation is called for. This applies equally to individuals or organizations. At The Right Reflection, we facilitate transformation for individuals, teams and organizations.”
