In classrooms, on fields and tracks and courts, in the stands, on stage, at dances and parties, at the pools, and (of course) at Topps Pizza after wrestling matches and basketball games . . . Besides our own Class of 1971 classmates, many of us spent more time interacting with members of the Class of 1972 than with any other WAHS class. 

Unencumbered by COVID restrictions, that Class of '72 celebrated the 50th anniversary of its graduation from Wilson Area High School on September 30 at the Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville. 

Thirty-six classmates and their guests attended from near and far - including North Carolina, Washington, Florida, Ohio, Georgia, Virginia and no less than five of six who now hail from South Carolina. All enjoyed five hours of food and drink, reminiscing and filling in the blanks for many who had not been together for a half century.

Kudos go out to reunion spearhead Ron Worrich and the effective and well-cordinated committee of Marsha (Buckman) Worrich, Maryann (Chavar) Liles, Tom Contos, Bob and Nancy (Steward) Freidl, Mickey Frey, Helen (Glessner) Scotch and Barry Jarvis for a job well done.

Ron Worrich served as master-of-ceremonies and presented video/photo montages of elementary and high school days and a memorial montage of the 40 classmates the '72 class has lost over the past 50 years.
