Class Photos

Came across these in an old scrapbook I found while going through some downsizing.  I don't recall ever seeing any other full class photos like the Second Grade group shot.  It's the only one I have and, ironically, a note on the scrapbook page indicates that I was in the hospital when it was taken.

A similar photo of the Class of '72 Fairview students when they were First Graders appears on the Fairview Facebook Group page.  This leads me to suspect that it was a one-time thing for the whole school district that year and there may be Second Grade photos for the rest of our class - Liberty, Hay, Fairview, Avona and Williams Township - floating around out there.

If you have any similar classics stored away somewhere, by all means upload them to a gallery.  Also, any Livingstone folks who can help me out on the few unidentified classmates in these photos, please let me know.

Wevona Bears Football Teams

In the early 1960s, while Wilson Borough had its Eagles (later the Vikings) and Williams Township had its Rams, West Easton and Avona Heights combined forces to form the Wevona Bears and do battle in Pop Warner football.  Many of the Class of '71's (and surrounding classes') aspiring Sonny Jurgensons and Tommy McDonalds got their first taste of the gridiron on Iron Street, at the West Easton Athletic Association field.  Indeed, one went on to co-captain our Wilson Warriors team as a Senior in 1970.  Here's two team photos from the pee wee team (the Cubs).  Any help or corrections on the identifications are welcome . . .
