Kathleen Marie (Borota) Kisner

January 5, 1954 - September 17, 2010

Kathleen Marie Borota Kisner, 56, of Saucon View Apartments, Bethlehem, PA and formerly of Lorton, VA, died Friday, September 17, 2010 in VNA of St. Lukes Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA.

Born January 5, 1954, in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of Basil and Dorothy Straka Borota, of Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Joseph J. Kisner.

Kathleen retired in 2008 from Prince William School District, Prince William County, VA, where she was a 6th grade teacher at the Woodbridge Middle School. Previously she taught in the Prince George County School District, MD and Phillipsburg Area School District, NJ, where she was a speech therapist.

She graduated from Wilson Area High School in 1971 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Stroudsburg University and a Master of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Kathleen was a life long member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, West Easton, where she formerly taught youth groups and sang in the church choir. During her years of residence in Virginia she was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, Annandale, VA. 

Survivors: In addition to her parents; she is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Borota Sharpless, and her husband, Dr. Richard E. Sharpless, of Lower Saucon Township; two nephews, Darius and Edward Sharpless; a niece, Marisol Sharpless; aunts; uncles and cousins.
