Frederick J. Ritter, Jr.

Frederick J. Ritter, Jr. 61, of Durham Twp., PA died Wednesday, December 25, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born: He was born March 23, 1952 in Allentown, PA. A son of the late Frederick and Helen Clauser Ritter.
Personal: He was a 1971 graduate of Wilson High School and on April 6, 1974 he married his wife, Linda.
He was an avid scouter. Fred served as scout master for Troop #27 since 1991 and advisor for the Tohpendel Chapter of the Order of the Arrow. In 2003, he was awarded the Silver Beaver, the highest honor in scouting.
He was a navy veteran of the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War serving a total of 22 years of regular and reserved duty.
He was a retired union carpenter from Local #600. Memberships: He was a mason, a member of Prosperity Lodge #567 F&AM, Riegelsville PA where he served twice as past master and currently as secretary since 1989. He was also a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest #35 of Easton.
Other memberships include the Wilson Borough American Legion and the VFW.
Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sofet Ritter. A son, Frederick J. Ritter and his fianc, Alma Hazel, as well as his beloved cat, Larry. In addition to his parents, other survivors include four sisters, Ruth Schmoyer, Ann Keeney, Marie Fairman and Rose Pritchard.
