Catherine Lazenby Parnell

For 22 years I worked as an Administrative Assistant at Newton Medical Center. I retired in 2005 so I could spend more time with my family. Three years ago I retired as instrumentalist at Mansfield Baptist Church. After 52+ years, this was quite an adjustment!

We have three children, Monty, Lori, and Lisa, as well as 5 grandchildren. Since my retirement from a full-time position, I've been working part-time at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, where one of my greatest joys is helping to facilitate our Grief Support Group. I know this is not where just anyone would want to land, but I love the interaction with families we serve.

Larry and I still live on the Lazenby Place in Mansfield and thoroughly enjoy the quiet country life. In December 2010 Larry and I celebrated 50 years of marriage. Our children and grandchildren pulled off the surprise of a lifetime with an Anniversary Celebration at Burge Plantation.
