I have had a great life before and since 1960. I married Dianne Moore (my high school sweetheart) in December 1961. I would do it all over again today because she is my soul mate, my helper, my supporter and the sweetest person on earth. I still love her very much. We have 2 great sons (Jeff and Steve) daughter-in-laws (Amanda and Karen) 5 grandchildren - 3 boys and 2 girls.
I was self employed in the moving and storage business for over 10 years, worked at Mobil Chemical for 27 years. Retired from Mobil in 1995 and have worked for my two sons ever since.
My father passed away when I was just 39 years old and my mom in 2002. My brother (Dennis) passed away on Jan. 1, 1996. I miss them very much. Dianne's family has always treated me like a son and a brother and I thank them for that. I love them very much.
I joined Eastridge Community Church four years ago and I am enjoying my christian living, my pastors, and the good friends that I have there. All the family has so many things to be thankful for. We are truly blessed.
I really enjoyed every day that I was in school from the lst grade to the day that I decided to quit school and go out into the world and make a lot of money. I loved playing all school sports - more than I loved to study. I even enjoyed the days that my buddies and I would spend sitting in Mr. Sharp's office. I had perfect attendance for all of the eleven years that I completed.
I quit school after the first six weeks of my senior year because I couldn't play baseball because my grades were not what they should have been.
After Dianne and I got married I went to Mrs. Homer Sharp's home on Mill Street for - I don't know - probably for about two years - two days a week and sat at her kitchen table to finish getting my school credits. I finally got my diploma in 1967. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Mrs. Sharp for being willing to do that for me.
I even managed later to get two years of college credits through my employment with Mobil.
If I had it all to do over again I would make every effort to finish high school on time, go to college and possibly even pursue a career in baseball.
