I don't think I knew Joe real well in high school. But, shortly after I moved back to Batavia from Boston, we had an encounter that I'll never forget. His family and my family happened to be having lunch at the same time in a local hotel restaurant. Joe recognized me ... jumped up from his table ... and rushed over to greet me! Then, he insisted that I come over and meet his family ... including his very talented daughter, Barbi. Joe was all smiles and enthusiam. I don't think I've ever felt more welcomed. Later that summer, I heard Joe perform on his accordian, at the "Picnic In The Park". It was very impressive. It was a shock to learn that he had passed.

One of our friendliest classmates, I cannot picture Joe without a big smile on his face.
