REMEMBERING VILMA...

I remember Vilma as being very soft spoken with a wonderful smile, beautiful eyes and a great sense of humor.

School years, especiially high school, can be very stressful on young people as it seems that the rich kids, sports stars and cheerleaders become worshipped by the peer masses and the uniquely different (for whatever reasons) remaining citizens of the class are left to the insanity of the inhumane bullies in the group who seem to enjoy ridiculing and embarassing those less fortunate.  However, I remember Vilma as always being kind, and considerate to everyone and very respectfull of both the have's and the have not's of her fellow classmates. She appeared to welcome the school society without casting any preference, judgement or condemnation on the financial, physical or athletic status of those mates around her. She seemed to genuinely "like" everyone.

I remember thinking the name Vilma as being unusual - apparently she did too as at some point in the balance of her life she apparently took on the nick name of "Chris." But strangely enough... NOW - as i think back on the uniqueness of this lady...the name Vilma, was very  befitting of her style and " state of being"  - back in the sixties.

With the alpahbetical arrangement of the classroom in the "W" arena -  I  remember Chris becoming best friends with Judy Williams  her letter "W" mate and the two becoming inseparable as friends - wherever you saw Judy, Vilma was at her side. I remember telling them jokes - as they sat behind me in the  letter "T"  section... and I enjoyed the sound of both of their evil and infectious laughter in response to my humorous  tale. :-)

I am so very sorry to hear of her passing and extend my heartfelt sympathy to her loving family.

With confidence, I know  that God was waiting with open arms by the Heavenly Gate - to welcome her gentle soul home to eternal happiness.

Indeed, I Remember Vilma...with pleasant, meaningful memories  and thankful prayers for her time with us.
