Nancy Hester (Nicholson)

Anne S. Vette - born  9 April 1941, died 1 August 2013.
Anne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Anne is survived by husband Verl, daughters Kelley Bachman (Karl Bachman, Collin, and Jeffrey) and Amy Cordova (Johnny Cordova, Jared), and Verl's children, Paul Vette (Terri Vette, Nicole, Michelle, Ryan, and Brandt), Michael Vette (Andra Vette, Kristopher, and Lara), and Kevin Vette (Karen Vette, Jeremy, Kyle).

Anne is also survived by sister Sue Keene (Bob Keene, Becky Molloy, and Anne Marie Kloppel), brother Jim Symonds (Sue Symonds), and Kelley's and Amy's father, Dale Larkin. Anne and Verl have 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren with a 4th great-grandchild on the way!

Anne's focus has always been on her family and friends. Her most precious moments involved time spent with her family and the close friendships she has had through her life. She always had a positive attitude, a kind thought to share, and was always there for her family and friends. She had a kind heart and touched so many lives with her generosity and spirit.

Anne served in a variety of career opportunities throughout her life. She was a school teacher, worked as the secretary at the St Gregory Episcopal Parish for many years, worked in retail management for Fashion Bar, Gantos, Christian Dior, and Estee Lauder, and ultimately retired where she could spend time on her passions – family and art. Anne was always active philanthropically and with community events. Anne was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and was honored to be part of Colorado Chapter CW. She was the CW Chapter President for 3 terms, she served as Treasurer, and participated in a number of roles and philanthropies over the years. Anne was also an active participant in neighborhood and community events, and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader when her daughters were young.

Anne was a wonderful artist. Earlier in her life, she had painted oil paintings, and was skilled at pottery as well. Later in her life, she picked up watercolor painting and found a new passion. She enjoyed her time with her art class, and was so pleased at art shows when people would express fondness for her work. She painted such beautiful work, and was so modest about her talent. Her favorites were landscape and floral watercolor paintings, and she had such fun trying new mediums as well.

Anne was also a skilled pianist having a grand piano for many years upon which she played classical music and taught her daughters to play. Anne lived a healthy life and always took care of a healthy mind and a healthy body. She had a strong faith, and a love of life. She exercised regularly with her walking group, yoga, and earlier in life was an avid tennis player and runner.

Anne passed away after battling ovarian cancer . She was grateful for the wonderful care and support she received throughout her diagnosis and treatment. She maintained a positive attitude throughout her journey. Anne's passing is so sad for the family, however the entire family knows she has gone home to the Lord and is in a better place. The family counts their blessings for all the years they had with Anne, and knows she is in Heaven and remains in our hearts and thoughts every day.

Memorial services to celebrate Anne's life will be held on Friday August 9th at 10:30am at the St. Gregory Episcopal Parish located at 6653 W. Chatfield Avenue, Littleton Colorado 80128. Luncheon reception immediately follows.
