This object was sighted in the famous Green Vault in Dresden.  It is a globe shaped goblet with the world supported by Hercules, formed by the goldsmith Elias Linker and engraved by Johannes Schmidt in Augsburg c. 1629.  The cartography is based on Hondius. It is partnered with a celestial globe and both are shown and described on the museum’s web site.  Click HERE for a link to the terrestrial version.
