BOOK REVIEW PROGRAM

The Portolan

The Portolan has an active book review program. Books received from publishers are evaluated to ensure of their interest to the membership of the Washington Map Society. Books should be on topic related to cartography, especially the history of cartography, or map collecting. Once received and approved, the book is provided to a qualified reviewer, either a member of the Society or a person well-qualified on the field addressed in the book. The author provides a review for publication in The Portolan. In appreciation, the reviewer retains the book and is provided several copies of the journal in which the review appears.
