NANCY ANN HARRIMAN

October  17, 1940 -- July 31, 2024

Nancy Ann. (Broline/Harriman) Wendland, age 83, died Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at her home with family by her side. She was born October 17, 1940, to Edwin and Pat (Buus) Broline.

Nancy was united in marriage to Derwood Wendland in 1967. They traveled extensively through the U.S. and overseas during her husband's service in the United States Air Force.

After Woody's retirement, they made their home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Nancy took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her final years, she lived with her sister, Sally, and brother-in-law, Duane. We are grateful for the life of our feisty and opinionated little Nancy. All her family and friends knew she loved them and always wanted their happiness.

Survivors include her sister, Sally (Duane) Nelson; brother, Bob (Jill) Broline; two granddaughters, Aireal Larson; Ciera Larson; one great-grandson, Carter Scheidt; and one great-granddaughter, Lexus Larson.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woody; two children, Marcus Wendland; Wendy Larson; and her grandson, Skylar Larson.

Graveside service in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD. George Boom Funeral Home.

Nancy Hester (Nicholson)

We were sitted alphabetically, in our Senior year & only year at Westside & became close friends. She was the only classmate to invite me to her home & birthday party, that year. This picture posted earlier is the "formal" one she gave me & I treasured.

I joined the Air Force & her "Dad" got transferred...we lost touch. In trying to find "missing classmates", I came across a phone number for her "Dad" Bob Harriman  & when I called it was very surprised that Nancy answered. He had died but she kept his phone. Unfortunately, her husband and both daughter & son had also died. She was delighted to tell me about her grandchildren and living with her sister & brother-in-law. I tried to talk her into joining this website, but failed. Cards & letters I sent went unanswered. When I recently "googled" her to verify her info, I found her on "Find-A-Grave". I didn't know until then, that she had been adopted, when Bob Harriman married her mother.

How many of you are "In Touch" with a classmate that doesn't post on this site?
Treasure them and be sure to let them know that they "ARE MISSED"!!!
