Thanks to Ray Eads for this summary of our PHS Class of 64 80th Birthday party:

Who would have thought on the day we graduated from high school that we would gather again for an 80^th birthday party?  My oh my, let’s face it we are old - illustrated by our big celebration being scheduled from 5-9 p.m.  That is what old people do.  Right?  Eat dinner early and go to bed.  Getting old isn’t easy, but this was an assembly of troopers.  Bad knees be damned.  We are still proudly marching forward.  There was no program just going from table to table visiting.  Lots of smiles, giggles and laughter.  Everyone had fun and enjoyed themselves.  There wasn’t much talk about senior medical issues although we all had them.  Instead, conversations were more like, “Have you started cleaning out your closets yet?”, and bemoaning the state of the country especially kids of today.  We seem to be the last generation that holds dear our parents’ values.  Dinner was great catered by Olive Garden.  I especially enjoyed the spicy Italian sausage simmered in red spaghetti sauce.   And there was lots of birthday cake.  What’s a birthday party without cake?

Neil Kenworthy spoke directly about the heart of the class of 64 saying, “Growing up together, sharing friendships, secrets, victories and heart breaks from kindergarten to graduation molded strong and enduring bonds in evidence even today.”  He said, “If you broke down on the side of the road and called me for help, I’d be right there and I know you would do the same for me.”

We are all grateful for being born when and where we were and had the good fortune to be schooled with the classmates who became the class of 64.  There will be no more like the class of 64.  Go bulldogs.
